Harmony House

The Harmony House project to be located at 7990 Joffre Ave. in Burnaby B.C. is one of fifteen net zero energy houses to be constructed across Canada under Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's EQuilibrium Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative.

A net zero energy home produces as much energy as it consumes on an annual basis through a combination of energy conservation strategies and the use of renewable energy technologies.

This project was initiated by Arthur Lo of Insightful Healthy Homes Inc., and Chris Mattock of Habitat Design + Consulting Ltd., a well-known custom green design firm in Vancouver, B.C. It is the only EQuilibrium home to be constructed on the West Coast and will be the first building in the Lower Mainland that will be a zero carbon building.

Insightful is the builder of Harmony House. The house officially opened on December 19, 2011 and was open for public and industry professionals in January 2012.
